Mika Nalbandian

Mika Nalbandian is a student at Queen’s University studying Engineering Physics with a Mechanical Engineering sub-plan. She is working at StarSpec Technologies on the InspireSAT and EXCITE projects. The Engineering Physics degree focuses on the applications of the fundamental physics principles underlying modern technology and processes. With this degree, Mika is able to explore interesting topics such as theoretical physics, aerospace technology and mathematics which will enable her to develop advanced problem-solving skills.

At Queen’s, Mika is a member of the Queen’s Space Engineering Team where she gains hands-on experience working with small-scale satellites. During her recent semester on the design team, she worked with a team of three students to build a small satellite that was launched in March of 2023. She is also a member of the Queen’s Racing Team where she has gained experience using CAD modelling software.

Mika’s previous work on design teams, coupled with her passion for the field of aerospace, physics, and mathematics has given her the experience needed for this role at StarSpec.
